I get more anxious each year. Probably because I know at some point there will be more days behind me than in front. I’m sure that point is some ways off but you can’t help wonder what the future holds.
Almost four months have passed between my last cast and the one I am about to make. No secret that there is a definite shift in the atmosphere. The days are growing longer and next week will mark the Vernal Equinox – equal parts day and night.
As usual, I’ve been keeping tabs on the local and gathering bits of information here and there. No way to know for sure what the conditions are like until I put myself streamside. I’ve already sent out the word to the crew…it’s time.
I’m quite looking forward to fighting the elements…freezing my ass off…losing feeling in my toes, feet, and legs…iced up guides…numbness in my hands and fingers…and just the chance at maybe…if I play my cards right…hooking into one of these again.
