Sunday was rough to say the least. Out late the night before and barely an hour of sleep, pouring down rain all morning, and the snow pack releasing what was laying dormant all spring didn’t help the situation. Couple that with no fish and you have one of those days.

It wasn’t for a lack of trying. We fished hard and pulled out all the tricks. The fish just weren’t there. Maybe it was the high water or another act of Mother Nature. At any rate the fish should have been there. The salmon count has been unusually low so far across the state. Lot’s of folks speculating but no one really knows the truth.
A day like Sunday helps you to appreciate those days when you can do no wrong. It makes bringing a fish to hand that much more special when you understand that despite your best efforts; sometimes things just don’t go your way.
