An unfortunate incident a week ago has kept me away from most everything. Let me see if I can explain in the shortest way possible. A picture should do it.
Every year over the holiday break my brother and I hit the local mountain resort to get some riding in. Let’s just say things didn’t quite go so well on the second day out. After spending an excruciating 3 hours at the local non-emergency clinic, I was informed that there was no major break in my right wrist. However, there may be a break in there somewhere. At the end of two weeks if things haven’t healed up I’m heading to my regular doctor to see what’s going on.
I’m not too optimistic that this thing is going to heal in the next week. I see another x-ray and a MRI in my future. My guess is some serious torn ligaments or a fracture of the scaphoid. At any rate I’m looking at a few more weeks to heal up.
What about fly tying you say? Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I managed to whip this baby up Saturday night. Not without a bit of pain and some creative bobbin manipulation.
If you recall the one on the right was my prototype 1/2 scale. The one on the left doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a true Intruder but not bad with a bum wrist and thumb.
Good thing I have two hands. The left obviously hasn’t been carrying it’s weight around here as evident by it’s clumsy nature. That’s going to change.
