The film arrived in the mail on Thursday…I placed the order on Saturday. I have to say much better than the weeks I had to wait for the second release from AEG. Since Thursday I’ve watched the film about 3 times now [bonus features and all].
Fishizzle is fun to watch fo’ sho. A great film by the crew at Rollcast Productions. Even before I heard about the film, Alaska West was at the top of my list for places to hit before I die. The main draw for me…deucing for kings [the film has a bit of that]! Fishizzle cracked me out and now I am chomping at the bit to hit the Kanektok. Now I just need to find a way to pull together the $$$.
The tunes are tight and flow well with the film. The opening track by Left Hand Smoke “Can I Get A Witness” gets things rolling. The story is about Steve [a guide at Alaska West] who takes a summer job at Wooligan’s in Seattle. He can’t stop thinking about guiding and goes about watching some of his fishing footage he has taken over the seasons. All this does is make his decision to leave the ‘real world’ that much easier.
Mixed into the story are amazing shots of magnum leopard rainbows, burly king salmon, and hard charging silvers. You get to meet the guides at Alaska West and some of it’s clients who can’t stop smiling. It’s easy to see why.
The bonus features include steelheading in B.C., more Alaska footage, slideshow, and much more. So pry yourself away from my site and get your can over to Rollcast Productions and order you some Fishizzle cause you ain’t gettin mine.
Having essentially ended the season here in Alaska, this film will help me get through the tough times ahead. Monday night I’m planning to watch Fishizzle with the rest of the crew. I’m really interested to hear what B.B. has to say. He used to be a guide at Alaska West in the late 90’s before he got all domestic like the rest of us.
