Chronicling trips made beyond and back. Whether taking a quick trip to pick up milk or traveling on a plane…I hope to fill in the blanks between.
Okay, the milk part is a lie. I hope you aren’t too disappointed.
I’m just a fly fisherman lucky enough to be able to call Alaska home. Even after all my years here, I’m still stoked to be fishing the same stretch of water I fished when I was a kid. I feel I’ve come a long way since making that first cast on a local lake for stockers. I also know that I still have a long ways to go. I’ve had days where I can do no wrong and other days where I’ve been humbled unmercifully.
Alaska isn’t as easy as everyone says.
I hope to show you that Alaska is more than big $$$ lodges in remote Alaska wilderness. That is one perspective…I hope to give you another.
If you like what you see, let me know. If it ain’t working for you…well thanks for stopping by.
Beyond and Back

Absolutely stellar writing, photography and feel. A pleasure to hook into your blog.
From your Canadian neighbour….Dennis @ Fishonyukon.com
I appreciate the kind words.
Great blog man. We have some mutual friends, one who turned me onto your blog. I live the similar life, we will have to get together and fish sometime. Gotta woody driftboat and plane. Hitting the big K a couple of days this week with my 8136 and some big honking leaches.

Thanks Flyboy. We’ll have to gather around some brews…mutual friends and all…and discuss what we can do with the driftboat and plane.
Will do! Now I am looking at setting a blog up, I am so impressed with all of this. Great way to share info.
I am headed out Friday, and hope to fish Friday and meet Al and gang on Sunday on the K with the spey. Got to get the rust off and get ready for being on the Situk in two weeks from now.
Will have more time in May before the main summer push comes on.
