
Spent last week in Mesquite checking out the sites, sitting in the sun, doing a bit of gambling, and hanging out in the spa. A short hiatus if you will. If it weren’t for the wrist I would have played a little golf too.
I have to say though that I am not a huge fan of the desert. It takes a special person to love all that dirt and dusty hills. I must not be that special. It is a bit odd to see palm trees and green grass in the middle of the desert. Can’t quite wrap my head around that one.
Did happen to take a trip out to the Valley of Fire State Park. Came across these two interesting sights.

Elephant Rock – Valley of Fire State Park. Not the shot I wanted but it will do. I was forbidden from mounting that pachyderm. The wife said she wouldn’t take the picture if I did. She said something about a bad wrist and cracking my head open. I’ll be back…
