Searching for spring steelhead in Alaska | Photo by F. Koethke
An early trip this spring yielded some much needed rejuvenation of the soul. Another long and cold Alaskan winter had taken it’s toll on me. This past March was probably the coldest I have ever experienced and because of it I thought long and hard about leaving. I even called my brother and sister-in-law in Oregon letting them know…once again…that we are definitely moving this time. I can hear them now, “Yeah, yeah…whatever.”
The trip turned out to be a good one.

Nice fish!
Nothing better than hunting for steel to invigorate the soul.
